Program Update: 2021-2022 Season Adjustments
- Integrity Cameras will now be required for all Pro League and Major matches
- Registration for the first Pro League Qualifier will open on September 13th on Smash.gg
- Ritual has been added to the Control Map Pool and Ephyra has been added to the Execution Map Pool
- The Map Ban Process has been updated to reflect the larger map pool
Competitive integrity is of the utmost importance to us, but unfortunately cheating tools continue to become more complex and harder to detect. Therefore we are implementing new rules where all competitors in Gears Pro League matches and Majors must have a camera on their hands/controller at all times while playing. We also want to make it clear that this policy is not due to any specific instance, but rather a precautionary measure to ensure all games are fair.
Starting in Split 1 of the 2021-2022 Season, Players will be required to use an Integrity Camera for all Pro League and Major matches. Players will be required to turn this camera on prior to the match beginning, and the admin assigned to the match will check the input device of all players competing in the match. The camera must then be left on for the duration of the match. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a match forfeit for their respective team.
More details to come.
As noted in the 2021-2022 Season Announcement Post, the official Gears Esports Tournament Platform will be moved to Smash.gg.
