Following investigation, Gears Pro League Player RBL eDemon from Pro League Team Rebel has been found in violation of the Gears Esports Code of Conduct and subsequently banned from Gears 5 and competing in Gears Esports.

In response to this violation:

  • RBL eDemon from Rebel will be banned from Gears 5 and competing in Gears Esports.
  • Rebel will be allowed to pick up a Challenger Player to complete their roster and maintain their Pro League spot for Split 3.

Following the completion of a Pro League match between Rebel and Rise on March 15th, 2022, the administration was informed of racist comments made towards Rise players by RBL eDemon.

All information was reviewed by several groups within Microsoft, including The Coalition’s Community Team, resulting in the decision to indefinitely ban RBL eDemon from Gears 5, thereby prohibiting him from competing in Gears Esports competitions.

As detailed in the Gears Esports Code of Conduct, The Coalition does not tolerate any behavior that is degrading to any race, gender, sexual orientation or disability in any form at any time during or after any part of an event or livestream or on social media channels.
