Competitive Ruling – SPY Gaming
Following an investigation, Gears Pro League Player RBL eDemon from Pro League Team Rebel and Challenger Team SPY Gaming have been found in breach of Rule 2.1 of the Handbook regarding Cheating and Competitive Integrity.
In response to these infractions:
- SPY Gaming will be removed from the Pro League and all members SPY Gaming (Gangsta, Violates, Overdxse, Arwayz) will be prohibited from competing in official Gears Esports competitions through the remainder of Split 3, and the Summer Major.
- Demon from Rebel Esports will be prohibited from competing in official Gears Esports competitions through the remainder of Split 3, including the Summer Major.
- Rebel will be allowed to pick up a Challenger player to complete their roster and maintain their Pro League spot for Split 3 Phase 2.
- SPY Gaming’s Pro League spot will be awarded by the third place team from the Split 2 Mid Split Relegation tournament, Spanglish.
Following the completion of the Split 3 Mid-Split Relegation Tournament, the administration was informed of alleged account recovery by SPY Gaming during their final Pro League Qualifier on Sunday, July 11. After investigation, it was confirmed that SPY Overdxse allowed his account to be recovered and played on by RBL eDemon. As this instance of account recovery is in direct violation of Rule 2.1 of the Handbook, SPY Gaming is no longer eligible for the Pro League and will be replaced by Spanglish, the third-place team from the July 10-11 Pro League Qualifier tournament.
